Hello AI Enthusiast,

This is a short version of our full blog post. Read the complete guide here for detailed prompts and examples.

Remember when creating a custom proposal cover meant either waiting days for your designer or settling for a generic stock photo?

AI image generators have been chipping away at this problem for a while now.

OpenAI released ChatGPT Images with their new GPT Image 1.5 model on December 16. We've been playing around with it, and the speed improvements alone are worth paying attention to. Images show up in 10-30 seconds now instead of a minute or more.

The improvements that actually matter

Complex prompts work on the first try now. You can finally render text accurately in infographics and product labels, which earlier versions completely botched. And you can make precise edits to uploaded photos without the AI reimagining your entire image.

We've been using it for five things

  • Proposal covers tailored to different industries (what works for healthcare clients looks completely different from tech pitches)

  • Social media graphics that don't scream "generic stock photo"

  • User journey maps for product planning

  • Timeline infographics for things like performance reviews

  • Product mockups for presentations

Look, you still need actual designers for anything high-stakes. Legal materials, brand assets, major campaigns. But for internal stuff, exploring ideas, or early drafts where you just need something professional-looking fast, these tools get you there.

Read the full guide for the actual prompts we used, some thoughts on when AI makes sense versus when it doesn't, and how to build up your own collection of prompts that work for what you do.
